Hotel Rooms & Accomodations

Inspired by the traditional Ivatan home-made of local stone, Fundacion Pacita Batanes Hotel accommodation combines organic design and interiors with contemporary comforts. With Narra flooring, wooden furnishings, and artworks by well-known Filipino artists and up-and-coming young Ivatan talents give each room a unique yet welcoming atmosphere.

All lodgings represent a highlight of breathtaking views of the vast sky with the Pacific Ocean, the West Philippine Sea or the province’s famous idyllic hills below it. All guest rooms come in various configurations and are located in different parts surrounding the main hotel building.

Environment and nature is central to Ivatan living. Moon phases and wind directions dictate a few farming and fishing rituals and beliefs. All the rooms of Fundacion Pacita were named after the local terms for different wind direction.

Cuvi

Cuvi

Cuvi is a local term for Southeasterly trade winds in Batanes. Cuvi I and Cuvi II are located outside the main building. Both rooms have one (1) queen size bed and an access to a topiary garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Itaw

Itaw

Itaw is known as the Southwest monsoon of Batanes and it brings a heavy rainfall during the wet season. Itaw is a deluxe room with one (1) queen size bed and has a balcony facing the Pacific Ocean.

Palahañitan

Palahañitan

The locals of Batanes refer to the Northeast wind as Palahañitan, one of the trade winds that dominate the season. The room also has two balconies overlooking the Fundacion Pacita topiary garden and Mt. Itraya.

Idaud

Idaud

Idaud is the local term used for the North wind that is usually accompanied by rough waves and harsh winds during the cold months of November to February. It has one (1) queen size bed and a private balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Avayat

Avayat

Avayat refers to the prevailing wind from the West direction. During its season, the wind is usually strong with rough sea waves. It has a private balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Sitio Tukon Mountains.

Munmo

Munmo

Munmo or Northwest wind is generally accompanied by rough seas and large waves. The Munmo room can accommodate up to three (3) guests. It has one (1) queen size bed and one (1) single bed.

Ayukayam

Ayukayam

Ayukayam, or known as the Northeast monsoon wind of Batanes, is the local term for storm. Ayukayam I and II are located outside the main building. Both rooms have access to a topiary garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Valugan

Valugan

Valugan is often used by Ivatans, especially by fishermen during seafaring as a reference to the east of land and sea. The two (2) Valugan rooms are villa-type accommodations that are located outside the main building.
